In this tutorial, I'll be showing you just how easily Streamlabs has made it possible for you to multistream, both horizontally and vertically. This will help you grow your stream.

Getting Started

The first thing you'll need to do is open Streamlabs.

If you don't already have Streamlabs Desktop downloaded, you can get it here. It's completely free to download and get set up.

Setting Up Your Dual Output

Once you have Streamlabs open, you're going to come to 'Settings', select 'Video', and then you'll see a new option at the top-right that says 'Enable Dual Output'.

Enable Dual Output

When you select that, you'll then get new options for both 'Vertical' or 'Horizontal' settings.

Your horizontal canvas will be '1920 x 1080' while the vertical will be '1080 x 1920'. Now, just select 'Done' and you'll be able to see both the horizontal and vertical output.

Vertical and Horizontal Outputs

One of the things that I really enjoy about this feature is that you can customize what you see on both the horizontal and vertical outputs. You can decide what you want to be shown on each in 'Sources'. Once you add something, you have the ability to hide the source from the vertical or the horizontal output.

Hide Option in Sources

This is also great if you only want to have different alerts for your TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, and Instagram Reels (vertical output) than for your Twitch or Kick stream (horizontal output).

This feature is completely free for one horizontal platform and one vertical platform. This means that you could use this to stream to Twitch horizontally and to TikTok vertically which is one of the best combos that you can use to grow your stream. I would highly encourage you to try multistreaming if you haven't yet done so.

If, like me, you want to be able to stream to multiple different platforms, like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, as well as horizontally to Twitch, you're going to want to get Streamlabs Ultra. This is what's going to allow you to stream to multiple different platforms.

Going Live

Once you have both of your outputs set up and you've decided on how you want each to look, you can go ahead and press 'Go Live'. This is where you're going to select and decide which platform you want to be horizontal and which you want to be vertical.

Go Live Options

I've selected Twitch as my horizontal and TikTok as my vertical. Once you've set up your title and everything else that you need, you can select 'Confirm and Go Live'. This will then start your livestream on both Twitch and TikTok at the same time.

If you don't have access to TikTok to stream, Streamlabs has made it really easy for you get approved to start streaming directly from Streamlabs. To learn how to do this and to get approved, check out this video here. In it, I'll walk you step-by-step through this process.
