If you stream on your PS5, you know that you can only stream to Twitch or to Youtube, but this tutorial will show you how to stream to Kick on your PS5 without needing a capture card.
Let’s go ahead and dive in!
Step 1: Have a game open on your PS5
To start, make sure that you have a game already loaded on your PS5. Next, hit the ‘Create’ button on your controller.
Step 2: Signing into Twitch and Adjusting the Broadcast Settings
Now, go to where it says ‘Broadcast’ and click this.
If you haven’t already linked your Twitch account, follow the steps to do so now.
Once your account is linked, you’ll see a screen just like the one below.
You need to give this a title, as you can see, mine is “God of war test stream”. The title is important as you still have to leverage Twitch to send it over to Kick. So whatever we stream on Twitch will appear on Kick.
By doing this, it means that you are streaming on both platforms. This can definitely help you to grow your audience as it will gather viewers from two different platforms.
After adding a title, click on the three dots next to ‘Go Live’.
Select ‘Broadcast Options’.
You’re going to want to ensure that ‘Display Camera’, ‘Display Chat’, ‘Display Activity’, and ‘Include Party Audio’ are all enabled. Most importantly, make sure that your video quality is set to 1920x1080 at 60 frames per second (FPS). With these settings, you’ll get the highest quality stream on both Twitch and Kick.
Before pressing ‘Go Live’, there are still a few more things that we need to do.
Step 3: Choosing your Aircast Plan
For this next step, you’ll need to head over to your phone, tablet, computer, or some other device. We’re going to go to a website called aircast.app. You can sign up using this link! This is what we are going to use to send the stream from Twitch over to Kick.
Aircast will allow you to stream to more than just Kick if you want to utilize this feature!
It should be noted that while Aircast is not free, for the price that you pay per month, it is much cheaper than purchasing a capture card or having to buy a computer. If you’re just getting started streaming now, then this is a great option. As you grow, then you can get rid of the subscription and get some more gear, but this is a great first step.
Personally, I prefer the ‘Streamer’ plan, as it allows you to stream to more than one site at a time, thus growing your viewership and community even more. In dollars, these prices equate to around $4-$7/month. If your plan is to stream to only one location, then the ‘Essential’ plan has everything that you need. This website comes with a 14-day free trial as well.
The other main reason that I would recommend choosing the ‘Streamer’ plan is because of its ‘Auto Start’ feature. This feature allows you to go live on all of your chosen platforms at the same time without having to go to your second platform and start the stream again. When you go live on Twitch from your PS5, it will automatically start streaming on Kick as well.
After selecting your plan, you’ll be brought to a page like the one below.
From this screen, select ‘Stream Input’ and then select ‘Twitch’. This will ask you to give Aircast permission to access your Twitch account. You’ll want to select ‘Authorize’ and after doing that, your Twitch will be connected!
Returning back to the ‘Auto Start’ feature, we first have to add our ‘Stream Outputs’. Press ‘Add Stream Output’.
Here, you can see all of the different platforms that you can stream to.
For now, we’re only going to be selecting Kick. Once you select this, it’s going to ask you for your ‘Stream Key’. In order to get this, head over to Kick.com.
Step 4: Adding your Kick Stream Key to Aircast
After logging in to your account, click on your profile icon, and select ‘Settings’. Then, on the left, you’ll see an option that says ‘Stream Key’.
Now, it’s going to go ahead and give you your Stream Key.
You’re going to copy this and we’ll paste it into Aircast.
Note: It is very important that you do not share your stream key with anyone. If someone gets a hold of this, it would allow them to stream on your behalf.
Once it’s pasted into Aircast, before clicking ‘Save’, make sure to toggle on ‘Auto Start’ if you chose the ‘Streamer’ plan.
Step 5: Going Live
With your Twitch and Kick both connected, you can now head back over to your PS5 to go live on Twitch. Once you’re here, go ahead and press ‘Live’. It will say ‘Starting Broadcast’ and then it will say ‘Now Broadcasting’.
Once it’s live, if you head back over to your other device, you can see that your stream will be broadcasting on both Twitch and Kick. You can further verify this by going to your channel on Kick where you should see your game on the stream.
If you see your game, then you’ve successfully linked your accounts!
Now that these are linked, you can start to build your community on Kick. As important as it is to link your Kick to your PS5, it's also super important to make sure that your streams and profile look professional.
